By Julia LaPalme AugThe 2017 Harley-Davidson Road Glide. All new Revo-A coil design for the M-Eight Softail Available in 12.5', 13', and 13.5. Gear Harley-Davidson Fox Touring Suspension Review Upgrade your Harley-Davidson to Fox shocks and fork for a smoother ride. If the QS3 is more than you need, Fox also has two other options – the IFP-R and IFP – that still provide better damping than stock, but won’t hurt your wallet nearly as much. Legend Revo-A - SOFTAIL - Standard / 12.6' is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock. FOX’s IFP-QSR three-position rebound adjustable design – combined with vehicle-specific damping and linear spring rates – gives you a confident connection to the road while soaking up the bumps mile after mile. Three distinct rebound settings make it easy to dial in the correct rebound for different riding situations: comfort on bumpy backroads, “any road” balance of control and comfort, and a “glued to the asphalt” feeling on smooth twisty roads. Carol (Smarty) and Howard at Motorcycle Metal are both very competent. The main piston valving has been reconfigured and extensively ride tested in a full range of conditions to work in harmony with the new three-position Quick Switch Rebound (QSR) settings. Both the Revo-As and depending on which Ohlins you choose will have that feature. With an internal floating piston to separate the nitrogen gas from the shock oil, the IFP-R shocks will maintain damping control no matter how long you ride. The FOX IFP-R QS3 rear shocks were designed to give you the comfort and control needed to keep you (and a passenger) happily eating up the miles and taming the twists and turns. Adjustability: Look for rear shocks that offer adjustable features such as preload, rebound, and compression damping. Check the manufacturers specifications to ensure a perfect fit. A three-position Quick Switch Rebound setting is paired with main piston valving that’s been ride-tested to work perfectly in any of those settings. ULTRA LOW: Just like the name implies, this is the lowest version of our 944 Series shocks. Compatibility: Make sure the rear shock you choose is compatible with your Tri Glides make and model. An internal floating piston separates the nitrogen gas from the shock oil to maintain consistent damping control throughout your ride. The IFP-R QS3 shocks represent some of the best shocks Fox makes for Harley touring bikes, whether you ride alone or fully loaded up with a passenger. You might know Fox from its long history with all things off-road, but it has a sizeable presence in the Harley-Davidson scene as well.
